Our delicious Fish Pie is generously filled with Prawns & Salmon in a white wine & leek sauce, covered with puffy pastry, to be scored and baked until beautifully golden brown. Served with a starter of Fougasse, a traditional French flatbread, a side of garlic buttered peas and our classic Côte frites. End off your meal with your choice of dessert.

This menu serves 2 people and in your box you will find:

  • – Fougasse, a garlic and parsley leaf-shaped flatbread
  • – Salmon & Prawn Fish Pie, served with Garlic Butter Peas and Frites
  • – Your choice of dessert: Crème Caramel or Chocolate Mousse

Wine Recommendation (NOT INCLUDED):

Macon-Villages Les Preludes, Chardonnay – 750ml 13% ABV.

Our Macon-Villages white Burgundy brings elements of butter and cream from extended ageing, perfectly matching the buttery, salty Fougasse. The fresh lemon acidity from the Chardonnay grape is a classic marriage with Fish Pie, while the freshness of the wine acts as a perfect palate cleanser, contrasting our rich desserts.

Salmon and Prawn Fish Pie Menu

Total cooking time: 35 minutes

Starter:

Fougasse (leaf shaped garlic bread with parsley and sea salt)

(Cook time: 10 minutes)

  1. – Pre-heat the oven (Fan oven 180°C / electric oven 200°C / gas mark 6).
  2. – Place the fougasse on a baking tray, reserving the garlic butter for later. Heat in the oven for 10 minutes.
  3. – Remove from the oven, top with the garlic butter and whilst it’s hot and melting, serve.

Main:

Salmon & Prawn Fish Pie, with a side of Garlic Butter Peas and Frites

(Cook time: 25 minutes)

  1. – Pre-heat the oven (Fan oven 180°C / electric oven 200°C / gas mark 6).
  2. – Remove sleeve and film and decant the fish pie mix into a baking dish, spreading evenly.
  3. – Place the puff pastry over the mix and score the pastry with long diagonal lines using a knife. We recommend you egg wash this but it’s not essential.
  4. – Empty the frites onto a non-stick baking tray and spread evenly.
  5. – Place the frites and fish pie in the centre of the oven for 20-25 minutes.
  6. – When the cooking time is nearly up, remove the sleeve from the Garlic Peas and pierce the film lid several times. Place on a microwaveable plate and heat on full power (900w) for 1 minute 20 seconds. Alternatively, to heat on the hob, remove sleeve & film and decant into a saucepan and cover with a lid. Warm on a very low heat, stirring occasionally. Make sure it’s fully heated before serving.
  7. – Serve the Salmon & Prawn Fish Pie alongside your Garlic Peas and Frites.

Dessert:

Your choice of:

Dark Chocolate Mousse Or Crème Caramel

Both are ready to eat so sit back, relax and enjoy!

Dark Chocolate Mousse

  1. – Ready to eat.

Crème Caramel

  1. – Turn out of the ceramic pot onto a plate before eating. You may find this easier if you run a knife around the inside of the pot to loosen the crème caramel from the sides.
